The Tea Republic at SM Megamall

To beat the summer is by spending inside air conditioned malls such as SM. I was roaming around, looking for an unconquered place, thus i found the not so crowded coffee corner named The Tea Republic.

They also offer shakes, coffee, pastries, cakes. I ordered a shake, they called it Republique Red Currant.

When my shake was served, there was no tissue. It was a minus in my opinion. So i just continued reading the magazine that i brought. After more than hour, i decided to go home. I was about ten meters away from the Tea Republic when their male attendant ran after me, and asked me, “Sir, nakapagbayad na po ba kayo?”

Marikina City Photos

This is a first of series of my Marikina City photos. I went to this literally clean city to just take photos of just about anything i could find interesting.

I live in Pasig, so very accessible for an unofficial adopted Pasiguenio like me, hehe. I just rode a jeepney. No FXs from Pasig to Marikina that i know of.

When i was probably about 15 minutes of my ride thinking i was already in Marikina. Also I was hungry, so when i saw a fast food outlet. I stopped by. And i went inside Johnny’s:

Marikina City

Before posting tons of photos about Marikina City, i will give a bit of facts of about this progressive city.

Marikina City popularly known as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines. It is one of several cities that comprise Metro Manila. This city used to be the capital of Manila.

The adjacent cities of Marikina are Quezon City and Pasig City. It is about 20 minutes from where i live in Barangay Tomas Pasig without traffic, or one hour with traffic haha.

Marikina Mayor’s Stupid Rule

The sign above reads as:
Dress up properly.
As a respect for your self, so that others will respect you as well.
Mayor MCF (Marikina City First)

Marides Fernando
is one good mayor, i mean her management skills is envied by other mayors. Residents in Marikina can attest to this. Most of them have good words for the mayor. I myself even admire her for the service she did to Marikina.

But there is one rule that i find it really stupid. That sign above.

If you want to get inside the Marikina City Hall, you will have to abide by it. Otherwise, the guard at the entrance will tell to go home and wear something nice.

That rule encourages being judgmental outwardly. It’s like “if you see a person who wears shorts or slippers, disrespect him.”

Death at Mega Plaza in Ortigas Center

There are hundreds, or maybe thousands of condominiums in Metro Manila. One of them is Mega Plaza, it is situated in Ortigas Center in Pasig City. Just really close to Robinson’s Galeria and Holiday Inn.

But a tragic incident happened in this plush condominium last February 24, 2009. A body of a male person was found dead. With a broken right arm and broken left leg.

I got photos and “handed down news” from a forum member in Pinoyexhange.

If you don’t like seeing dead people with blood, don’t proceed.
