Happyland is an independent movie directed by Jim Libiran. The movie is also an entry to Cinemanila, the annual film festival for independent films.
According to GMANews:
The film tells the story of a Spanish missionary priest who tries to form a group of disadvantaged boys from Tondo into a fighting football team. The story is based on true events that took place in Tondo in the 1980s, when Spanish priests from the Don Bosco parish and youth center began teaching football to local out-of-school youths. These boys eventually formed a football team that became legendary for playing barefoot because they couldn’t afford to buy football shoes.
The screening will on March 9, 6:00pm at UP Film Institute inside University of the Philippines Diliman campus in Quezon City, Metro Manila, ticket price is P200.

MANGATYANAN will have a one-week run at Robinson’s Galleria in EDSA Blvd, Metro Manila on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 to September 22, 2009. Show starts every 12:00 noon.
This movie was created by Jerrold Tarog, the same guy who did the Confessional. Confessional was really good, i hope this one has the same quality, although it got good reviews from those who already watched it, especially from the movie critics.
