Confessional showing in Robinson’s Galeria until August 19, 2008. This schedule is for Metro Manila only.

I have watched it today. Personally, it’s currently the most entertaining local Philippine movie. It has been one year and eight months since i last watched a tagalog movie, and it sucked. But this last one, did not.

Manuel L. Quezon was inaugurated president on November, 1935. Considered to be the first Filipino President of the Philippine Commonwealth under the United States.

He was famous for his remarks:

“I prefer a country run like hell by Filipinos to a country run like heaven by Americans. Because, however bad a Filipino government might be, we can always change it.”

I don’t necessarily agree with that quote above, and i’m not being a US suck up.

He redeemed himself by saying this:

“My loyalty to my party ends where my loyalty to my country begins.”

PFF House of Football

I was blessed to have been invited in the opening of Philippine Football Federation’s House of Football last August 2, 2008. I was also fortunate to have captured FIFA President Sepp Blatter, using my Nikon D40. I even caught him yawning, probably jet lag tired.

The PFF House of Football is in Pasig City, standing on a corner lot and can be found at the end of the following streets: Capt. Henry P. Javier, Danny Floro Canley Road, Hill Crest Drive and Christian Route.

How to get there: From EDSA or crossing then go to at the end of Shaw boulevard. If you see rows of motels, then you’re already close to the PFF house.

David Cook Concert in Manila

Yes, it’s a thumbs up!

David Cook, the season 7 American Idol winner will have a concert on January 27, 2009 in Metro Manila.

The venue and details will be unveiled in the coming months since the announcement came out only in a radio interview.

David Cook’s concert in Manila is part of his “Idol” tour.

Sbarro at SM

I was eating alone at Sbarro SM, as usual. I was really hungry, and the curious self in me had to try this type of pizza at Sbarro. I think it was called Stuffed Pizza, but could forgot its specific name.

It costs 117 pesos a slice.

I was attracted by the sesame seeds on top of it. And the taste is even good. Since i am not a voracious eater, i could not eat it all.

1834 - Manila port opened by the Spanish colonial government for trading.

1896 - Rizal was executed at Bagumbayan Field of what is now popularly called Luneta Park. Revolution ensued because of it.

1897 - The Katipunan was replaced by a new government headed by Emilio Aguinaldo as president. Andres Bonifacio resisted and built his own government, but was executed together with his brother for treason.

1898 - The US bought the Philippines for US$ 20 million from Spain, and staged a mock Battle of Manila Bay to make it appear as a legitimate war between the US and Spain.

1899 - The start of Philippine-American War that lasted for three years.
